Stella Chroma- Cosmetic Product Photography

Had the opportunity to work with this amazing company who makes products that are big 5 free, cruelty free, paraben free and phthalate free. Stella Chroma makes awesome skin and nail care products and it was a pleasure to put together a shoot for some of their line.

I styled, modeled, and through some finagling of the self timer also photographed this shoot. Retouching for cosmetic photography is also super important. You want every image to convey a message and not get bogged down with tiny flaws that could have been fixed in post.

Bubbly

This was a fun little test I did with Julia of Chandon Brut and Chandon Rose. Lots of photoshop to make sure we got the bubbles where we wanted them!

And just in case you were worried, none of the alcoholic bubbles were wasted in the making of these images!

Florapothecarie - Small Business Collaboration

A while back (when my hair was still blue), I was privileged to do this collaboration with small business Florapothecarie. They make 100% natural and vegan skin care products and even dry shampoo! I had a great time making some clean imagery for the brand and doing a little self-care while I was at it!

Lemon Bars

I cannot get over how talented Lauren is.  A few minutes after she styled these (AND MADE THEM HERSELF) she cut about nine to ten inches off my hair.  Did we do a practice run where she only cut off seven? Yes.  But I did trust her to do the last two and make it look awesome!

Case in point: She's amazing.

Smears

Got to do some fly by the seat of our pants smears with Lauren a bit ago, and I finally got to edit them!  They turned out pretty great, despite them getting moved around multiple times before we got to shoot them. What I'm trying to say is... Some of the smears got smeared.  But we worked with it!

Linzer Cookie Test

The most recent test I did with Lauren, which I got to eat (and maybe drink a mimosa or two)!  How could you go wrong?

Crate and Barrel Bed Test

Testing + My Favourite Color

As many of you know, I work in a mostly product oriented studio.  And as many of you also might know, I don't have much of a product portfolio, but I'm working on changing that. Lately I've been working with different stylists, mostly the lovely Lauren Skrobot, to make some awesome images.  I'll be posting different ones up here periodically.  Starting with this very finicky image combining both of our favourite colors: teal and gray. We've got three personalities in one; the hipster-photographer, the fashionista, and the crafter.  Yes those are 7.62x39 rounds made into a bracelet, and yes that is a purse-sized hair straightener, and yes we did own all of these items. Which personality do you most resemble?
